  • Yes that's right - just the Wildhorse Saloon...

Here is the email I (and I'm sure most of you received):

Congratulations to the Mississippi State University football team on a great season and invitation to the 2011 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tenn., on December 30. We are excited to cover Music City in maroon and white as we take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

We are proud to share a schedule of events with the entire Bulldog family, and hope many of you will join us for this exciting celebration. Remember to bring your cowbells and ring responsibly!

    Maroon in Music City Celebration
    Thursday, Dec. 29 | 4 p.m. – Close

Join us at the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville for an evening of fun and dancing. Sponsored by the MSU Office of the President, Alumni Association, Foundation, Bulldog Club and Student Association, this event is free and open to all Mississippi State fans. Doors open at 4 p.m. for everyone, and guests can enjoy live music and dancing until close. Pom-poms will be passed out during the night. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Fans are encouraged to “come and go” at the Wildhorse Saloon throughout the evening. The venue is the largest gathering space we could reserve in downtown Nashville, and will accommodate approximately 1,500 people at a time. When this venue reaches capacity, Bulldog fans are encouraged to cover downtown Nashville in maroon and white by filling the many restaurants and entertainment venues on Broadway. For a list of local restaurants, please visit http://www.visitmusiccity.com/visitors/restaurants.

In addition, the Regions Bank Bowl Preview Show will be broadcast live at the corner of 1st and Broadway from 7-9 p.m. Bulldog fans are encouraged to stop by the stage and hear Jim Ellis, Bart Gregory, Matt Wyatt and John Correro discuss Mississippi State football. For those not in Nashville, you will be able to listen to the radio show on the MSU radio affiliates.

Wear maroon, bring and ring your cowbell, and cheer on our Bulldogs!

  • The Wildhorse Saloon is the coolest bar/honkeytonk in Nashville IMO. Cool that MSU gets it for the night.

  • See you guys at the Wildhorse

Yancy is like kudzu. You hate it, can't kill it, and is virtually worthless!

  • Somebody mentioned on another board that the Throwback Bar & Saloon is hosting a pregame for State fans from 1:00 to 5:00. No cover, longnecks$3.00, patio overlooking the river. This guy says it is the closest bar to LP just before you cross the bridge.

  • Anybody tailgating on the paddle boat before the game?
