Yancy is like kudzu. You hate it, can't kill it, and is virtually worthless!
"You don't hurt 'em if you don't hit 'em." Lieutenant General Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, USMC, 1962
Had to have been a weekend series in 1989. I remember Echols, Hurst, Grayum, Reed, Cohen, etc. but I was so young that turned out to be a fleeting experience. 1990 I followed the entire season and remember being told how great the 89 team was and what a disappointment the UNC super regional loss was. Then, of course, I got to see us take down FSU, Burke Masters Slam and all that. Those were the formative MSU baseball times for me.
I don't remember the games per say, but I do remember dominating the tree climbing in the right field lounge area. There wasn't a single kid who could hang with me, literally.
its imposible for me to remember
i was going to 20+ games a year when i was still in a car seat so they all just kind of flood together back then
i bet i saw 200+ games before i went to my first MSU football game
$50 bet with Rebels10 - Best of 3 Egg Bowls
**the $50 goes to others schools athletics dept**
I can't remember the year but know it was the Van Cleve (spelling) timeframe. The old stadium, remember the wood bleachers. We were behind and came back to win late in the game.
I have been a fan for so long but couldnt financially attend games. About 6 years ago, I was able to attend my first SBW in 2006...we played UGA. I took a date and sat in very cloudy conditions and watch us get beat, but I had fun because it was a baseball game at famous Dudy Noble. After my wife & I were married, she embraced my love for MSU (I didnt graduate from State) and ensures we buy football season tickets and donate what we can to the BC. My most enjoyable baseball game was in 2009 for SBW. A friend of mine, a Kappa Sigma, let several of us sit in the LFL in their seats. We lost to Auburn that night, but it was one of the best nights ever. I deployed to Iraq the next month, but I told all my friends that the LFL & Dudy Noble is simply awesome! Seeing is believing.
Hail State & GO DAWGS!
