I've not seen the spring game. I've heard Tyler has become a MAN this spring. I guess we'll find out when Auburn comes to town.
after talking to a couple of people:
1. Tyler is definitely ahead in the passing game
2. Dak will be outstanding in time- just lacks experience
3. Tyler still has to pass the test of a pass-rush hitting him in the mouth this Fall- but he really took some big steps forward this Spring
4. The gap between QB's looks bigger than it really is because it's been so pass-oriented. With the QB's unable to be hit- you have taken away one of Prescott's valuable talents- running the ball. And should Russell get hurt, we would go back to being more run-heavy
5, We are better at QB than we have been in a long, long time. One coach said that even if we had to start Dak- we'd be better at QB than we have been the last 3 years.
I know what you are saying bmartin- there are 2 types of QB's:
You prefer the Tyler Wilson- pro-style QB
I prefer the Tim Tebow-Cam Newton type of QB
I think running + throwing > just throwing
Tyler's got the job now and we have made some offensive changes to help him be successful. And I'm ok with that. I've said all along I'm ok with Tyler being the QB as long as we make some changes in how we practice and how we run the quick passing game.
But I do have concerns about us protecting him and our WR's getting open. But alot of people feel really good about the progress he has made in getting rid of the ball on time and making better decisions.
I cant wait for this Fall
