I wanted to give Mullen credit for changing the offense to fit Tyler, but he hasn't. Sure, we have eliminated the patented snap it to Relf and let Relf run straight ahead play, but other than that, it's the same offense without the threat of a QB that can run. We didn't change our running philosphy to compensate for an immobile QB. It reminds me of Mullen's first year at UF with Chris Leak. They were ineffective even with tons of playmakers on the field. Fortunately for them Tebow came in the next year and bailed them out. I guess we will get back to what Mullen likes to do as soon as Dak is handed the reigns. It's just a shame that Mullen isn't innovative enough to add in some screens, draws, and running plays out of the I-formation or Pro Set.

I usually don't agree with you much, but I do agree with some of the offensive points. To run a passing attack, the deep ball has to be an option. Even if we don't complete it like you said, they have to know we will try it. And like you said no we don't have a "deep threat" but then again neither is Marquis Colston, but he catches a lot of deep balls in the saints offense because the pass heavy scheme is run correctly. Green Bay, New England, New Orleans all are considered pass heavy, but they know how to hit the trenches and go under center when it needs to be done, which is what sets up the big ones.

Is koennig calling the offensive plays or Mullen? Seems like every yr the offense gets dumb and predictable and the Mullen takes over play calling
