  • The OL and receivers are a huge concern if TR is to take over. Leaky OL and covered receivers would be more disastrous for TR.

  • I started another thread about a blocking TE. I noticed Beckwith was 89. We gotta get an extra lineman out there to help Clausell and to help with the option on the edge. Green ain't catching any passes we may as well try it. Playcalling hasn't helped us none since the Memphis game.

Receivers not getting good seperation is one of the reasons I support giving Tyler a shot. Relf is not great at hitting wide open receivers much less well covered ones I think Tyler has better accuracy and would be able to make more of those completions. As far as the leaky offensive line I just don't see where that matters as Relfs only advantage running is when a run is designed. He does not do well escaping pressure as we have seen game after game. I think this is because he is a strong downfield runner much more so than quick/shifty.

+1 ....guys Russell is not the answer. I hope can be great for us next yr but he would get killed back there with our O-Line and recievers dropping balls. Not to mention the most important piece of our offense, RUSHING THE FOOTBALL....if we can't establish a ground game....Russell (and anyone for that matter) would get murdered...they would bring the house and force him to throw and ultimately make mistakes. It basically what's happening now.

Anyway, until we get the O-Line back on track and rush the ball we're going to struggle to beat anyone decent.

You know that is a good point and one I've never really thought of: Relf is not quick/shifty so it's not like he has that advantage over TR. Plus its not like we've been running the option a lot lately.

I know I'm out of reasons but I just feel like Relf is our best option right now.

Russell may not be the answer, but until Relf is able to run again he sure gives us as much of a chance as Relf. Evidently, they are both ailing and can't run. Since Tyler is supposedly our best passer then when he can play I see no reason to think Relf gives us a better alternative. Oline has nothing to do with Relf sitting in the pocket missing open receivers and not seeing openings to throw in. Maybe Tyler can get the ball to them, maybe not, but what we got going now ain't working. Don't forget Relf had enough time to throw 2 picks and 3 drops away from 3 pick-6's yesterday. When Relf regains his ability to run or cut or whatever it is that prevents him from running the ball I say he is our best option.

We can't run...that's the point...teams put 8 in the box and dare us to throw....Relf can't throw because his confidence is down.... IF we have a passing threat teams won't be able to crowd the line like they do now, thereby creating lanes for Ballard and Perkins to exploit.... The OL will look better when we have some balance that keeps the D guessing a bit....
