Rumor going around tonight....Bama and AU to the East....Missouri and Vandy to the West....this isn't a done deal but this one for sure has legs!
Missouri had to be promised they would be in the West it looks like...

I bet only AU ends up going but both AU and Bama are being looked at to go East...why Bama is beyond me!

I don't get it either, unless Bama is that determined to keep the Third Saturday in October alive...

That is about the only way they could keep both auburn and Tennessee on the scheule every year, bout the only reason I can think of

To keep the Bama / AU rivalry status quo. Do any East / West teams play each other every year or do they all rotate eventually?

Well I bet the Presidents and AD's of the schools in the SEC East will find a way to keep that from happening. About the only ones that probably don't care are the ones at Vandy. No one else will be willing to trade them for Alabama. I also suspect that Tennessee wouldn't be too terribly upset about not having to play Bama every year. Sure its a great rivalry, but its also almost always an annual Loss on the schedule.

I know what you are saying, but it being an annual loss is only a recent trend
The series really bounces back and forth. Tennessee dominated in the 90's and early 2000's before Bama went on their last run

There doesn't seem to be a logical way to balance traditional football powers across the divisions using geographic queues.
Replacing the last 2 National Champs with A&M, Mizzou and Vandy in the West would really make the conf lopsided. LSU fans might as well buy condos in Atlanta.
how about these conf
LSU -- FLA
AL -- Ten
AU -- GA
A&M -- MSU
MO -- SC
AR -- OM
VU -- UK

The only way both Auburn and Bama move to the East is if 1 team moves to the West. Yes, I would love to have Vandy move to the West, but that's not going to happen. Bama will stay in the West and Auburn will go to the East.

If that happens, LSU will be doing back flips of joy.
A west of LSU, ARK, A&M, MIZ, MSU, OM, & VAN
LOL, they will win it 90% of the time.
I can't see that happening. AUB to the East appears to be a done deal where they will become Bama's perm opponent.
The domino effect in all this will end the ALA/TN rivalry as an every year deal. No way around it.

Sure we would have to play Bama as our perminant, but we would also get vandy as a permanant to replace Kentucky, no loss there, plus TSUN has to pick up someone other than Vandy as thier perminant, most likely UT who loses Bama as a west opponent.
So we have to pick up vandy and continue to play bama, but not play kentucky
TSUN has to pick up UT and continue to play vandy, but not play bama
I do see that TSUN getting bama off thier regular schedule would help them but I think replacing UK with Vandy is a bit easier but not by as much at replacing bama with UT.
