Heck yea. He has been considered the best linemen on the team since 08. The injuries have prevented him from showing it.

They could easily be 1a 1b. But Tobias Smith is more of a road grader that can move people.

I will say the same thing I said on the defense thing. I considered the talent level of guys on campus and the incoming guys. After the spring, meaning where the position stands before fall practice.

I have stated several times that I think Desper will play. So, no point debating and beating a dead horse.

If Desper starts then we've had alot of OL's hurt....he is raw and needs to get into better shape....he'll be a whole nother player after a rs yr but he won't be playing in 2012...if he does the season has went bad!

There is almost no way that Desper plays this year, much less start. I think it is safe to say that Mullen doesn't start true freshman o-linemen. I agree with the other guys. We are in for a rough yer if Desper gets significant PT.

I never said he wasn't. When did I say Sherrod wasn't an elite player. You trying to put words in my mouth. My direct line to Crrom are guys who played for Croom and Mullen. They all marvel about smith's ability. the injuries have de-railed a promising career. Stop trying to put words in my mouth. I never dissed Derek. so, don't act like I did. I know you didn't say that. My point was one guy was a first round NFL draft pick, the other one has had an injury riddled career, and has played very good at times. But Sherrod was/is a freak athletically & had better size/skill/tech than Smith.

If you think Desper is gonna play, you obviously aren't aware that Mullen has redshirted EVERY single high school OL since he's been the head coach at State. So, he's gonna buck a 4 year trend now?
