it depends on if whitley and the other safeties produce. From talking to quadry he believes he will play next year and personally i think he will too. I think he will play to about the same capacity that dee arrington did last year. Why do some of you guys give jeremiah such a hard time. Paul who is the guy that runs this site and is in the know just said that if a fr could come in and play at any spot it would be db so why the hard time for mr short. Some of yall have something against him but the fact of the matter is he is a bulldog and does talk to alot of the guys on the team and knows alot of stuff. I know he is way out there on some stuff but over half of the people on this board is too. So how about yall lay off of him some. I hate to say this but this board is getting like bol. NO. How many true freshman have played in this program after Mullen's first recruiting class?
2010 class- Hughes, Carr, and Harrison-Gay(who redshirted last year) 3/20 high school signess who are still on team
2011 class- PSmith, DArrington, and PJ Jones 3/17.
That's 6/37 or 16% of players that signed with us that played as true freshman out of ones that are still currentlyo on roster.

This year, we signed 25 high school players. If the stats run true, we'll play about 4 true freshman this year. Quay is going to play. Will Redmond is going to play. Those are two spots where a high school guy can come in and play right now. No offensive lineman, quarterbacks, running backs, tight ends, or wide outs should play this year as true freshman other than Devon Bell and Brandon Hollway who can help in special teams immediately. That leaves the question: Is Antoine better than 2 of the listed: Richie Brown, B Brown, Nick James(who he was rated far below coming out) , DEvans, CJiles, and Nelson Adams(who he was rated below but, closer than the first three.)

That answer is unequivocally, no, by almost all scouting services including this one. Can he still be a GREAT player at State? Sure. But, he's not going to play next year, therefore, he won't be in the two-deep.

its called getting experence. after this year we lose 3 corners. Do you wanna go into 2013 with no experence in the secondary???

Considering we have about 5 freshman or sophomore defensive backs this season, not counting Whitley, shouldn have an experience issue at DB in 2013. And yes I would rather keep a redshirt on a kid than him go out in mop up duty
