Ray's team has only ONE starting player that has had any previous SEC basketball experience (wendell is hurt). Not to mention a team that is 4-5 players short of every other team in the country. Yet, Ray continues to get the hustle and determination from his players for the entire game. We lost tonight and for the first time I can say "tough loss" without blaming a coach or individual players. Every player you saw tonight will be back next year along with some new and welcomed players. Ware is getting better every game and Thomas/Sword/Bloodman will give you everything they have. Steele will be a senior and provide the necessary leadership to drive this team. I mean did any of you actually believe this team was going to better than what we have seen thus far? I didnt because I know how difficult an understaffed roster, major injuries, and a first year coach are absolutely TOUGH to overcome right now. I also saw some great clock management and awareness from our coach and though it didnt pay off ,it was the right move. Im proud of this team and I will be the biggest fan moving forward, because they dont deserve any less. If you cant see the VAST improvement at all the things we as MSU basketball fans have complained about for the last 10 years, then you just dont know basketball. Give Ray and this under-appreciated team a little credit. Experience is everything in basketball..Just look at Kentucky and how they are struggling right now. And they have the best freshman in the COUNTRY. We dont have that luxury, but we are gonna play hard every game. I love this team regardless of what our record is.

I was a Rick Ray skeptic at the beginning of the season, but I've become more of a fan as the season has progressed. The hustle that this team has and the intensity is there, more so than most of the Stansbury squads that I watched over the years. There is no excuse for poor free throw shooting, but this team is playing tired every game and doesn't have the depth or experience to win a lot of SEC basketball games. They are not clutch, but that will change and this team will be better in two weeks than they are today. I am confident Ray has them on the right path.
Keep on grinding Bulldogs, you'll get there!
