He could, I know Deon picking you guys made A LOT of people very angry over in Batesville as well as Oxford. I wouldn’t put that out of the realm of possibility. I have only really got to know David the last few months. Until he took this job, he was really trying to get back to playing football. He even had visits lined up at LSU and Ole Miss. However, he couldn’t get cleared. His shoulder is VERY messed up.

I also know that the guy pushing those kids our way isn’t going to be there forever. Part of me welcomes the potential change. I would rather focus on Memphis. I know Deon is a good kid, and so is Tony. However, many of those kids have not been model citizens (See Mr. Brassell).

You spell out what is so wrong with so many OM fans. Your quote that "Deon picking you guys made A LOT of people very angry over in Batesville as well as Oxford" just makes me sick. I can understand being disappointed if a guy from South Panola doesn't go to OM as I would be if a big time recruit from Starkville chooses not to go to MSU but ANGRY? Come on, give me a break, the kids at SP have as much right to choose where THEY want to go to college and spend the next 4 year of their life as any other HS senior in the state or heck, in the country. The fact that such a hissy fit gets thrown when a top SP player doesn't go to OM or even a guy like Liggins last year from Laf County is just beyond ridiculous. Its pathetic that a lot of these guys give in to go to OM JUST to avoid the harrassment to themselves AND to their family. Its really no wonder that it often doesn't work out with these players going to OM. I mean it certainly doesn't help when these guys end up at a place they feel they were "forced" to go to appease their community. Let these guys live their own lives for pete's sake.
