Let's be honest! MSU fans don't expect to get anything out of South Panola. Our expectations are zero. We do not get worked up about losing South Panola kids to Ole Miss. Everyone knows this for a fact. When we do pull a SP kid, it is a much enjoyed bonus.
Ole Miss on the other hand has a history of going batcrap crazy over losing kids from South Panola and the Oxford area. I am not throwing stones because I know how we have reacted to losing kids from our back yard. It is merely a fact of recent recruiting history at both schools.
This being said, I would be very worried about Tony Conner being quiet. I don't know exactly what his motivation or desires are right, but I have a few well informed ideas. Tony is trying his hardest to avoid the Ole Miss crazies. He is not dead silent because he is worried about Bama or State fans, that's for sure. He saw what happened to Liggins last year, and we have heard what Mix has said about the Ole Miss pressure on SP players. I am not saying Tony is an MSU lock. However, if I were an Ole Miss fan, I would be very worried right now. Also, consider the recent history of SP players at OM and the fact that the biggest recruiter in our class shares a locker room with Tony right now. Be afraid! Be very afraid! We are at or near the top of his list. FYI. Over and Out.

In regards to Mix, I have known since Jan. he was ALL MSU. His mamma is a HUGE fan. I know her pretty well. I have also had the pleasure to talk with Tony Connors brother David a lot in the past few months. Ironically, he and Ms. Mix work together.
In David’s exact words to me on Tuesday of this week, "Its Ole Miss v Bama Baby!" He also told me Tony is turned off by Bama because the coaches there were none too happy he didn’t camp there. he said he would take his visits and announce after that. Take it for what thats worth, its thrid person I know. However, that person is Tonys brother. I also know for a fact that the money man in SP is doing everything he can to push Tony this way. Further, before you bring it up, Tony is NOT mad at coach Freeze. At one point, there was a little rub because of comments about David that Tony percieved to be insulting. That has been cleared up and is no longer an issue.
As for Shumpert, I have no inside info. Just reading between the lines it sounds like if he stays in state, he’s all yours. If he does not, he’s OSU. I think he is an OSU lean right now, but as the date gets closer, I think he’ll have second thoughts and sign with you guys.
I’m also a guy who thinks Kalio is going to go to State. I know he likes to bait us along with his quotes, but I think he just enjoys the spotlight. If he does switch, it won’t be because of football. He will only switch if he thinks our new track coach gives him a better shot at the Olympics than Yalls.
