Is this league this bad?
We will know after a few more games.
It's OUR time and OUR State!
yes, worse than bad.
The SEC was the #1 basketball conference once upon a time. Wierd, wierd, wierd
Its gotten to where the SEC has a lot of good basketball athletes but VERY few actual skilled basketball players. Its amazing how few guys in the SEC can actually shoot, pass, box out, make free throws, play sound defense etc.
Which is exactly why I like Ray's future at MSU. He stresses fundamentals and player development - a lost art in the SEC now.
Granted I am not a basketball fan, but I have been bored with SEC basketball for a long time. Your basic offensive set goes like this...look for the open 3 and if its not there drive the lane and dunk, lay it up, pull up, or hope to get fouled. Zzzzzzzzzz....
Speaking of fundamentals and the future, I can not wait for IJ Ready to get here next year. I watched a little film on him today and he has a very fundamentally sound handle on the ball and a better than average jump shot for a point guard. I also can not wait to see Maurice Dunlap in a couple years. We could really lite up the score boards in a few years. And speaking of player development, I thought Colin Borchert improved offensively more than anyone down the stretch. I had kinda given up on him but not after the way he finished the season. I think he could average around 12 to 13 points next year.
I've been playing and watching bball for 25 yrs and it was hard to watch SEC games this yr.
