Yesterday was down right pathetic as far as the student section goes and they should be ashamed. They have turned into a student section similar to the one in Oxford. They not only leave early, but now they are deciding to not show up at all. There is absolutley no reason a 7-3 football team should have to play infront of as many empty seats as it did, and majority of that one falls on the students.
The problem is, this group of students are spoiled. They have been here for the Mullen years now and I guess a 3 game losing streak means the season is over to them. If they are not going to do any better than this, then Stricklin needs to look at reducing the number of student tickets, and reward those tickets to people on the waiting list that would be glad to come watch a 7-3 team play.
And before any student comes on here and gives the early game excuse, I l drove from smith county and was able to make it in plenty of time for the 11:21 kickoff, no reason you can't make it in time already being in starkville. The student section in the hump has already become irrelavent and now it's slowly getting that way in football. I wish this class of students would have attended state during the Croom years, I think they would appreciate this team a little more. Maybe in order to be given tickets, they should make them sit through a replay of the Maine game, that would show them how lucky they are to have what they have. Also while I'm on the rant, before next season they also need to be lectured in stadium chants and have some kind of practice in that. They act like it's a race to do the Go State Cheer and the we just beat the hell out of you which leads to no one else in the stadium doing it.

I agree with most said here, but like others have suggested we can't have another season where we play so many damn 11 a.m. games. That's killing crowd size and atmosphere.
MSU has no control when they play outside of winning every game, and even that didnt help this year being 7-0 and not being on CBS. And strange that the students packed out the Auburn game which was a morning kickoff but not this one.
CBS will probably only show us when we prove we're a legit contender in the SEC West. Nobody believed in us at 7-0.
MSU still had no control and could only beat the teams on their schedule. Even when Sherrill had MSU in the West Division race for about three straight years MSU played once on CBS. I am convinced CBS stands for "Cant Be State"
