I'm losing my mind. Why not Robinson, Milton, or Griffin??
I like Mullen as much as anybody but that was the worstplay calling on the goal line I have ever seen if you qb sneak do it with Dak. If you run it from the one put Robinson in not Perkins damn that was so stupid
It just dumb
I don't understand why you don't bring out Dak in that situation.
"They call me crazy until they find out I'm right"
I hate to be one of those people that starts criticizing when we lose...but thats exactly what Im gonna do tonight.
1. Our Special Teams are horrible to average at best and have been horrible to average at best most of the time under Dan Mullen.
2. I will never understand why our offensive line cannot pick up delayed blitzes. It seems like our coaching staff just ignores that part of the game.
3. Yes, if anyone can explain to me why we use our smallest tailback in goal line situations I'm all ears.
4. Why were our linebackers 3-5 yrds behind their receivers all night and Bama's linebackers were all over our receivers all night?
Yeah, Im pissed we lost the game but this was just downright embarassing. tsun put up a much better fight than we did tonight. Its not so much as our players were outplayed, its just like everytime we face Bama, Saban just coaches circles around Mullen. Sometimes I wonder if Mullens success at Utah in a weak league and at Florida with the worlds best athletes has made him overconfident. No way in hell Bama's team is 4 times better than State...but they scored 4 times as much as we did. This game smells an awful lot like the Arkansas game of last year.
Awful. Just awful.
In regards to your 4th question, it is because our linebackers can't keep up with their receivers, running backs, or tight ends and their linebackers probably have better 40 times than all our skilled players!
I love Mullen but I agree with the above. My only complaint about him is I think he has a tendency to be too cute or outthink himself (goal line situations, fake punt against fla. his first year, lsu goal line first year, running back throw back against ga two years ago, etc...)
Oh we'll, hope we can move on and be ready for a winnable game against A&M.
Ladarius Perkins is an all SEC back. Only one to score a TD in every game until this one.
WE wish. There are 4-6 SEC backs equal or batter than Perkins. We saw two of them tonite. Also, I can't for the life of me understand why he retuirns KO's!
Not sure there are a lot of backs better. He led the SEC going into the game and has only been playing half a game. The second part, however, I do agree with fully. Our entire special teams play puzzles me some nights.
Or a 6th year senior with his head up his a** on the field goal attempt. That was inexcusable for him to let a rusher come off the end. Total lack of focus on his part= failure
I'm not as upset about using Perkins as I am about the play calling. Give it to Perk 4 times and he scores. Last year give it to ballard 4 times with RELF in the game against South Carolina and we score. Give it to Dixon 4 times against LSU in 2009 and we win the damn game!!!! Insanity.......
