First I'd like to preface for a few moments. I think the last 5 years have been good. I took great pleasure in seeing us best tsun 3 years in a row and beating teams we should beat. The facility upgrades have been great. Marketing has also been pretty good. Oh and I love the different uni combinations that we have. Now as I move forward I see the perfect storm brewing. This is a direct correlation to the 10 and 11 classes. Those classes were bad and our record will reflect it. This year we get to see can Mullen really coach. And by saying coach I mean back to relentlessness, playing talent over experience, and making in game adjustments. If these things don't happen we will enter 2014 with a half empty stadium and a coach who's on the hot seat. And if tsun goes bowling and we don't its a wrap. Their momentum right now is crazy. Many of the instate players have them in their top 2. Fans love to say I won't blue collar guys that work hard. Well I want 4 and 5 stars. Bucky gets it and Mullen doesn't. Mullen and Hevesy should be taken to the woodshed for the Deon Mix screwup. That's just terrible. Mullens yankee ego will be his demise. I predicted all of this last year and was blasted. It's not that I don't like MSU it's just that I see certain things happening. With a few changes we can reach the next level. Question is will Mullen make those changes? If not then back to the bottom we go. I hope he make the neccessary changes but I just don't see it. It'll be sad seeing about 30k fans fill up dws on opening day to Christian the newly expanded stadium.

GRINDIN' FOR #OURSTATE BLOGSITE!
You predicted it last year was blasted and I have bad news, your about to be blasted again by the board.
Mullen isn't even in the same room as the hot seat. When do you ever remember us having seasons like we do now. Hell I remember when we struggled to beat Division II teams.
I don't particularly think that Mix was anybody's fault. Some donors have deeper pockets than others. Sorry it's the way the world works. Look at OM. I mean AU has major reports of them paying players on ESPN, USAToday, Yahoo Sports and no investigation announced.
Its probably sarcasm!
If we don't go bowling his seat will be hot going into next season. We're on the downward spiral now. Btw there are already some donors who wanted him gone after that pitiful showing after going 7-0.
So if we go 5-7 this yr you think we have 30k for the opening against Southern Miss?
I'll bet you any amount of money (and I mean any) that we have 55k+ for that game...put your money where your mouth is.
I can all but guarantee you a full house in the 2014 opener vs. USM. Come on, man, lol.
And for those donors, wish they would've been around after MSU lost to Maine.
Lol. C'mon Paul u know going 1-5 with no relentless energy left a bad taste in some people mouths.
If we go 5-7 with no effort then hell yea.
Never denied that. I was debating you saying the stadium could be half-full in 2014.
$50 bet with Rebels10 - Best of 3 Egg Bowls
**the $50 goes to others schools athletics dept**
You should change your name to whysoretarded
USM will be sold out with a record breaking 62K plus. Game will be kind of a big deal for the state, and believe it or not some mustard buzzards will show up for that game.
This is Our State! This is Our Trophy!

Why? Because I'm right more than wrong!! My man I'm still the Michael Jordan of the board!!
You've got to be a rebel. No dog fan would even think like you do. Don't tell us how you're a realist and so on.
This is my tale on it. I see what WSS is saying but he's being dramatic with it. Mullen is improving this football team year after year. UNFORTUNATELY, the rest of the SEC is improving at a much faster pace. Auburn will be back sooner than later, Ole Miss is taking short cuts to be relevant again, Texas a&m has arrived, and Vandy is no longer a for sure win. Arkansas and UT are toss ups at this point. UK is a non factor still but Florida and Georgia are right back as traditional powers and Spurrier has SC in the upper echelon of SEC schools. Yes, MSU is better than we have beenin a long time so it's hard to complain BUT I can't blame anyone for being pessimistic about the future of MSU compared to the rest of the SEC. Mullen is a victim of his own success. He has let us taste good bowl games and a 9 win season and now with the already great SEC getting even better, we may not see 9 wins in a long time and that's not good enough for some fans. You can't blame them. UK had a long string of bowl games winning 6&7 in a season and no one takes them serious as a football team. I think MSU is better than that so no, I won't be happy with just making bowls. Does that make me greedy? Maybe. But I'm not down in this team. I just don't have much faith in the 2013 from under center with Tyler Russell and this Oline. Somebody wake me when we get back to running the option
"They call me crazy until they find out I'm right"
A lot of what we have to do is maintain for awhile. And then eventually the chips may fall in place with a QB exceeding expectations and the breaks falingl our way such as a down year from LSU or Bama. Obviously the key for Mullen to take us to the next level is the right QB for his system and to continue to upgrade recruiting, particularly at Left Tackle and Right Tackle.
Beamer maintained and then landed Mike Vick. Spurrier maintained and then landed Lattimore and Clowney.
I see the Rebel recruiting machine is in high gear.
I think we are getting the playmakers in that's why I'm looking forward to '14 but the tackle position scares me then. I do think the tackle position is slightly less important in the read option though. But I'm looking forward to the future with Prescott, Ross, Gray, Shumpert, Robinson, etc.
After a 8 win season..we are on the outside looking in..take the maroon shades off fellas
