We had some pre-bowl interviews today with Mullen and some players and here are a few notes:
- Mullen said again the first few practices are about giving the younger guys more reps and said that is a good thing because there will be a lot of young guys playing on defense next year
- Mullen said Gabe Jackson and Nickoe Whitley will submit paperwork to the NFL to get feedback as to where they might get drafted and see about their options. Later on I talked with LaDarius Perkins and he said he did the same but has full intentions of coming back. Perkins said he is doing it to see what he needs to work on the most
- As I tweeted out, Mullen said Christian Holmes will move from linebacker to a fullback/motion tight end position and that process starts in bowl practice
- And when asked what younger player fans need to watch in bowl practice and for next year, senior corner Corey Broomfield said that was easy and it is Cedric 'Tiger' Jiles. He said Jiles wouldve played a lot this year if he wasnt behind the Jim Thorpe Award winner (Banks) and the SEC's leader in interceptions (Slay)

Whitley can send his paperwork to me. No need in wasting the NFL guys' time on that one.
Will Jiles be listed as a freshman next season?
Wont know for awhile.
Whitley tore his Achilles tendon last season; That's not exactly something you bounce back from easily. He was probably about 80% this season if you ask me, and hopefully he'll be back to 100% next year.
Comments like that don't have any positive Consequences. We all know what happened back there this year. Say something good about the team probably going to win nine games this year.
