Was doing a little thinking last night and I came up with this. To win in 2013 I think we should put an emphasis on scoring many points per game. Now to do this I think we should run an offense similar to what the patriots and packers run. More passing with Perkins and Lewis catching many passes out of the back field. Tyler could easily put up close to 4000 yards passing. Our rushing numbers will be down but those short passes will make up for the runs. If ran properly I could see a 8 or 9 win season.
Mullen is not comfortable without a consistent rushing attack. Our offense has the QB to do what you are talking about, but last year our offense never fully clicked.
The first mistake you made was to start thinking...
U are a funny dude. Way to go Tater.
Tyler is more than capable of running that style of offense. It'll get him pro ready.
You basically want to run Kevin Sumlin's offense he ran in Houston?
"They call me crazy until they find out I'm right"
I honestly thought you were being sarcastic with the "scoring many points" comment. Pretty sure that has been the goal of every offense in the history of football! lol
Re-read what you quoted me on; I said we have the QB to run the offense you are referring to. But Mullen hasn't been successful offensively when he has not had a consistent rushing attack.
Yes. Quick hits. Slants. Kill the opponent with 5 yard passing plays.
In reality I dont care what the offense looks like as long as abandon the 9 step drop plays that take 12 minutes to develop.
Keep those plays cause 12 minutes a play helps MSU control the clock.
That's about right. I think it'll work.
This ^^^. Get rid of the 9 step drop and throw the quick hitters. This is our only chance at beating bama.
Gotcha. Mullen better go hang out with belicheck.
First take all your maroon shirts and hats pile them up in the back yard and burn them. Second go to rebelrags.com and get a new wardrobe. Should help with that win percentage.
We don't have receivers that can get separation for quick passes like that.
Rebels must be bored when it's not payroll/recruiting season. Seems like there are quite a bit on our board lately...but, after reading the above post, it seems like your time would be better served working on your math skills.
Quick passes we do..deep passes we don't so it's pointless until we get someone to stretch the field short passes can be taken away
lol, you guys limped in to the worst bowl and next thing you know OM is contending for the SEC West.
Only at OM
I disagree. We can't get open on a slant. DBS play bump and run coverage on us cause they have no fear of being beat deep
