He is a free agent. Now, since he's out, the media will claim that the only reason a 32 year old journeyman player was not picked up by a team is because he is gay. It is a setup to criticize the NBA and by extension a lot of others. Let's watch it play out.
He's is going to get picked up now....I'm a fan of pro basketball and Jason Collins was a washed up big man who doesn't really have a place in the league anymore...and that has nothing to do with anything except his basketball ability....but he will get a veteran minimum contract by someone next year so the league can avoid the criticism you mentioned..... honestly, his coming out is going to make him more money than he would have otherwise....

that would not be a setup to criticize, that would be a setup for a discrimination suit

He's 34 and I was thinking the same thing bit honestly I think he would have been picked up this season until he came out. He would have been good for 6 fouls but now he's not worth the distractions to a lot of teams.

Here's another angle on this topic....ESPN just did a story on Collins fiancee and girlfriend for 8 years, Carolyn Moos. If he was born a homosexual, is it fair to be critical of him for leading this woman on for 8 years of her life when she had done him no harm? Just food for thought....
Born homosexual? Thats a topic for another day...
Lol....very true... I was going with the popular assumption within the pro-gay community...
