Shumpert is an equally maybe slightly bigger get than Jones. Yes Jones has huge upside and will continue to get better. Shumpert has the capabilities to play next year. My reasoning, he is already physically and mentally prepared to carry the load. He will be a 30 carry per game back in the right offense. This is something we have needed for a long time. I can't compare him to one certain back but I can say he is better than Dixon because he is a north south runner and has the vision of Norwood. He doesn't have elite speed but he gets to the second layer of defense quicker than any back I've seen. He will be a 10-12 yard per carry back.
I wouldn't go that far and say he is better than boobie. If Dixon would have played for mullen all 4 years he would have possibly put up well over 5000 yards and over 55 tds. Croom didn't do Dixon any favors and Dixon still had right at 1000 yards and 14 tds as a so. Chris Jones will play next year without a doubt and i would go as far as sayin he will be 2nd on the team in sacks behind Autry
Not saying Shumpert isn't a good back, but to say hell be a 10- 12 yard per carry back right off the bat as a freshman, is a little crazy! If that was the case, he'd be more heralded and everyone would want him.
Living in fear is just another way of dying before your time
30 carries per game. 10-12 yards per carry. 300-360 yards per game?! Sounds legit...
