I've seen several posters mention recently that we may only sign 16-20 next year.

My question is...why? Sorry if it's already been asked/answered and I missed it, Numerically, it isn't making a whole lot of sense to me, so I'm thinking that I must be lacking relevant information...

I'm not sure of where/how our 85 scholarships are alotted. (IF anyone has access to that information and the breakdown by class, please post it...because I have never seen it anywhere), but according to our official roster, we have 105 current players.
17 seniors
22 juniors
16 sophs
28 rs fresh
22 hs fresh

By my estimation, we lose 19 this year. All seniors, plus Cox and Wilson. So, we're going to need quite a bit of "good attrition" for the numbers to work out.

Going into next season(including signees), we are looking at the following:
20 seniors
19 juniors
30 sophs(assuming PJ and Dee as only two that played as true fr...am I missing anyone?)
20 rs fresh
25 hs fresh

So, using these numbers, we're going to lose 20-23 next year. It's conceivable that a few of these guys again get early looks from the NFL. In which case, we wouldn't need quite as much "good attrition" to sign a full class of 25 after next season. What am I missing here?
