Mix 'Solid' with Miss. State

After a slow start this fall, 2013 MSU commit Deon Mix and his South Panola (Miss.) High School teammates have picked up the pace.

    • Paul, do you think the folks in Oxford will do an all-out blitz to try to flip Mix or, are they okay with him signing with State? They seemed to be okay with Market coming to Starkville, but not Brassell. Do you think they have pretty much the same attitude when it comes to Mix and Conner: don't mind Mix coming but will pull out all the stops to make sure Conner does not opt for the Bulldogs?

      Should Conner decide he wants to be a Bulldog, do you think he and his family would be willing to go through the fall-out that would be sure to follow? Not making the assumption he wants to be a Bulldog and not implying anything derogatory toward him personally if he does not choose MSU, just asking if you think he and his family could or would be willing to withstand the pressure that would come his way if he were to decide to play for Dan Mullen.

      There will be no full court press for Mix. They tried, he didn’t respond. They couldn’t even get Mix to come in for a visit before he committed to MSU. I happen to work with both Deon’s mother and Tony Conner’s brother. I knew weeks before he committed to you guys, that he was going to. She was already decked out in MSU stuff. From what I understand, Deon really likes MSU. Tony on the other hand, really wants to stay close to home and close to his friends (Gross and Snoop).

      If you have to be worried about Mix, it’s not from the Ole Miss side (IMHO).

      I have no idea what Conner's family would think of that and Conner doesnt talk much. He just says what he likes about his final choices but I dont think he is the type of kid to fall to pressure.
